- Sungkyunkwan Korean Humanities Council International Academic Conference in the Second Half of 2021. "The academic and role of traditional and modern universities". The Sungkyunkwan Korean Humanities Council was organized in early 2021 by Sungkyunkwan University's College of Liberal Arts, College of Study, and East Asian Academy's humanities units related to Korea and East Asia for the development and spread and development of humanities. The Sungkyunkwan Korean Humanities Council held its first academic conference in February 2021, and this October, we would like to hold an international academic conference under the theme of "College and Academic" with domestic and overseas researchers. On the one hand, universities are free academic communities independent of society, but on the other hand, they have developed in close connection with society and the state. The Sungkyunkwan Korean Humanities Council wants to find a clue to the long-awaited social role of universities and academics in Korea and East Asia, considering the coordinates that universities will move forward today amid rapid fluctuations. Professor Lee Jong-kwan of the Department of Philosophy of Korean University was selected for the 2021 Humanities and Social Excellence Support Project announced by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation on Thursday, September 23. The Korea Research Foundation's "Excellent Scholars Support Project" is an in-depth research support project to produce world-class scholars in the field of humanities and society through long-term in-depth research and promotion of writing activities. It is the largest project to support individual researchers in the humanities and social sciences, with a total of 250 million won over five years. Professor Lee Jong-kwan, a philosopher who has pioneered digital civilization transformation from a humanities perspective since the late 1990s, currently serves as the director of the Hybrid Future Culture Research Institute and the head professor of future humanities. In particular, he wrote excellent books and papers such as "Posthuman Coming," an academic award-winning work of the Korean Publishing Culture Awards and Lotte Publishing Culture Awards, and "Future of Work and It's Temporality in the Age of 4th Industrial Revolution" (2017; Korea), future human beings. Through these research results, he was invited to serve as an advisor to various state-run institutions and served as an advisor to the Future Housing Research Committee under the Ministry of Construction, planning and general committee member of the Institute of Information and Communication Policy. In addition, Professor Lee Jong-kwan successfully conducted "Mega Trend Research" with researchers at the Hybrid Future Culture Research Institute, and from 2017 to 2018, he planned "Technical Revolution and Publicity of Human Work" research and produced excellent results as a research director. - Professor Jisoon Lee(Dept. of French Language and Literature) was selected as a candidate for excellence and commendation in the academic and research support projects of the Ministry of Education and received the commendation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education. Professor Jisoon Lee and Center for Francophone Studies have continued to carry out the foundation project of The Academy of Korean Studies and published the "Correspondance politique et commerciale : 1895~1907" (translated by Jisoon Lee, Kyuhyun Park, and Byungwook Kim) in 2018.

Sungkyunkwan University was ranked at the top with the second place in terms of education condition and student education and third place in Faculty research. - SKKU ranked among Top 10 in “THE Asia University Rankings 2019”
- On May 1st, the Times Higher Education announced the “THE Asia University Rankings 2019”. 417 universities from 27 countries were evaluated in this ranking. The first place went to Tsinghua University, second place to National University of Singapore, and the third place went to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. SKKU received 67.7 points and recorded 10th place in the ranking. SKKU rose 3 places in comparison to last year (2018: 13th place). SKKU has received 60.4 in educational conditions, 64.2 in research performance, 74.8 in thesis citation, 96.9 in research & business profit, 48.8 in internationalization. SKKU earned at least 3 more points for each criteria in comparison to last year. SKKU has set the course of development by making “Student Success” as a new keyword. - Hybrid Future Culture Research Institute signing MOU with Friedrich Naumann Stiftung Für die Freih
- The hybrid future culture research institute (Professor Lee Jong-kwan, Department of Philosophy) signed an MOU on research cooperation with the Friedrich Nauman Foundation (CEO Christian Takks) at the Toegye Humanitarian Hall's test materials on May. The Hybrid Future Cultural Institute is a research institute that has been leading the way in carrying out "future humanities," a study of futuristic methodologies based on the humanities, and is attempting various future social studies based on the humanities. The Friedrich Nauman Foundation, a German nonprofit policy research institute established in 1958, has been connecting South Korea and Germany through its Korean branch set up in South Korea and supporting inter-Korean dialogue. To this end, the Nauman Foundation has been pushing for various policy research and projects that realize the value of freedom to create a peaceful and win-win environment and make it accessible to everyone. Starting with research cooperation with the Friedrich Nauman Foundation of Germany, the Hybrid Future Culture Institute plans to continue to push for future humanities research, international cooperation with leading German universities, research associations and research foundations, and the hosting of international academic conferences.

- French Play "Roberto Zucco" was performed by students in French Language and Literature
- The French play, the biggest event in French language literature major, has been a 56-year tradition since 1963. This year, the 41st French play "Roberto Zucco" was performed in a small theater on the third basement floor of SungKyunKwan University's business center from March 28 to March 30. Directed by Oh Yeon-seo, Cho Yoon-min, and organized by Kim Ji-eon, and Son Soo-hyun, all French language and literature major, the event was held with a total of 41 staff, including 11 actors. "Roberto Zucco" is the last play by Bernard-Marie Kaltz, a French actor and genius playwright. This is a true story based on Italian serial killer Roberto Zuko. Zuko, who has been arrested for murdering his father, escapes from prison in a day and visits his mother and kills her. Then, it tells the story of what happens between a girl, a detective, and an elegant wife that Zuko meets. It's based on a true story of a killer, which can make viewers feel uncomfortable. However, there are many terrible events in modern society that cannot be understood by common sense. "Roberto Zuko" asks the audience, 'Am I the right person then?' by criticizing capitalism and shedding light on the inherent violence in everyone's mind, accusing them of various forms of violence, including physical and verbal, that are prevalent in modern society.

- 2019 Alumni Association Award Ceremony
- The 2019 Alumni Association Award Ceremony took place at the 600th Anniversary Building on April 9th. Total of KRW 273,000,000 was given to 124 students. Many important figures of the university joined the ceremony and encouraged the students. The award was granted in the following order: Alumni Association Global Center Award, Global Center Donor Award, Yun Yongtaek Scholarship, Dongwoon Shin Yoonha Scholarship, Songchun Ryu Dukhee Scholarship, Kyungdong Pharmaceutic Fund Scholarship, Lee Chunggu Scholarship, Seokdam Lee Wankeun Scholarship, Hyochun Cho Kyuhak Scholarship, Park Choonsoon Scholarship, Life Sciences Alumni Scholarship, Korea STS Institute Scholarship, North American Alumni Scholarship, New York Alumni Scholarship, and World Taekwondo Federation scholarship. Chairman of the Alumni Association said, “We have hosted this scholarship award ceremony hoping that students will become a proud Sungkyun talent who will lead the future of the university.” President Dong Ryeol SHIN also delivered words of encouragement, “The students seated here today have the potential to become the leaders of their own areas. I hope you all become proud Sungkyun talents who are willing to share the love to future students.” Student Jiwoon JUNG has recited a letter on behalf of 124 students. “The donors are like parents; they encourage and support the dreams of students.
