Projects can last for an entire semester, and many continue for a year or more. SKKU students use their CGS(Creative Group Study) experiences to become familiar with the faculty, learn about potential majors, and investigate areas of interest. Recently, AI technology is rapidly developing around the field of language processing. In particular, the GPT-3-based language model, which was released in 2020, shows a prospect that problems in areas previously considered impossible can be resolved sooner or later. In this situation, the time has come to seriously consider what it means to learn a language, and especially where to find the meaning of learning a foreign language. To this end, this lecture first deals with the current state of language processing technology based on AI. It covers the structure and technology level of not only translators such as Google Translator and Naver Translator, but also AI for language education and AI platform for chatbot development. Based on this, it looks at the trends in the industry related to language processing, and explores ways to solve social communication problems using AI technology. | |||||||||

The drama, because of its direct transmission, has closer relationship with the society it represents than any other literary genres. In this course, we will look at the history of German drama to see what the drama genre depicts in what manner in each historical age. As we study the drama in terms of the genre development, we should start with the Poetics of Aristotle and the ancient Greek dramas. The course will deal with the ancient Greek drama, its influence on the dramas of the afterages, and the dramas of Lessing, Brecht, and Duerenmatt on the one hand and the kinds of dramas: tragedy, domestic tragedy, epic drama and tragicomedy on the other. The course aims to enable students to familiarize themselves with the dramas, to have the basic knowledge of the drama genre and to improve their ability to analyze and interpret the dramas on their own. The dramas of the major playwrights in the history of German literature will be selected to be read in the class, to encourage students to have interest in other dramas and playwrights as well. | |||||||||

Lyric poetry is short verses which express personal feelings, thoughts, and experiences of the poet. The subjectivity shown in lyrics includes the universal sensibility, and at the same time, has always been transfigured by the fluctuating social and historical conditions. The aim of this course is to understand the life and culture of the age when they were written, and to consider their contemporary meanings by appreciating and analyzing the best German poems representative of each German literary trend. Students will also be asked to explore the relationship between poetry and reality, and the social functions of poetry, by studying the diverse tendencies in modern poetry and poetic theory. |
