The establishment of unique and particular relationships is the precondition for identifying a specific space among areas. Such relation network, different from that of other regions, exercises greater influence on all members involved, in either direct or indirect fashion. East Asia also had its own relation structure in the light of this fact. This course aims to examine changes in ways for countries to be connected in the pre-modern era and study Japanese history in the light of such relation network.

Korea and Japan share not only geographical proximity but also the memory of colony-empire, but since the 1950s, they have been closely intertwined with each other as members of the US-led military-economic block of East Asia. This lecture focuses on Korean and Japanese culture and examines how the culture of these two regions was formed on this historical and political horizon. The purpose of the lecture is to enhance a deeper understanding that can overcome the current conflict between Korea and Japan.

First, we will develop the ability to understand and apply culture, thought, and history contained in meaning phenomena. The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and vernacular changes of Korean vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, meaning and function of proverbs.

Then, we compare the main contents of Korean and Chinese such as Chinese and English, and select contents that can be used in the Korean language education field and look for education plan.

This course aims to understand the concept, structure and principles of Korean textbooks. First, we will compare and analyze various existing Korean textbooks and expand knowledge and skills related to textbooks. Based on this, I will develop a textbook and an auxiliary textbook suitable for a learner, and compare and discuss the types and theories of textbooks according to purpose and function.
KLE5009 Teaching Method of Korean Grammar 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Korean Language Education Korean Yes
This course aims to understand and acquire knowledge and principles of Korean grammar. First, I will search for the ability and methods to apply knowledge, structure and system of Korean grammar to Korean language education. Based on this analysis, we will analyze grammatical errors and corpus of Korean grammar and draw out appropriate grammatical models and teaching methods for learners.
